Yahoo CEO Hints At New Products

Yahoo, which has been besieged by takeover rumours and poor financial performance, is looking to the future with a series of new product launches.

During the Web 2.0 summit, Yahoo CEO Carol Bartz said that even though the company has hit hard times recently, it is now ready to bounce back in the market.

According to Mercury News, Bartz admitted that the company "has had a couple rough years".

"I don't think you're really tested as a person or as a company unless you've had some tough times. Companies get tough and pick themselves up when they face some tough challenges,” she added.

Refusing to address the rumours of a possible takeover by AOL, Bartz said that Yahoo is about to start rolling out new products in the coming months including: a local deals service in partnership with Groupon and other similar deals providers, access to games by social games maker Zynga as well as partnerships with other social media companies.

Bartz also announced that Yahoo is about to launch a service which will allow users to make restaurant reservations directly from the Yahoo search page.
