Google Voice for iPhone Is Back, and It's Free

Well, not that the first Google Voice app wasn't free back in the day, but ever since it got pulled, the only way you could eventually get your hands on the service, was through a paid client. Anyways, Google Voice is back, it's free, and hopefully it's here to stay.

The app gives you access to your your Google Voice account right from your iPhone. It offers push notifications for new text or voicemail messages and you can also send free text messages to U.S. numbers and make international calls at cheap rates. It gives you the option to listen to your voicemail, read transcripts and manage your Google Voice inbox.

One of the cool features is that, when you call someone, you may set it to display your Google Voice number as caller ID. It also offers you the typical option of calling contacts from your iPhone Address Book or enter new numbers on the dialpad.

Google Voice account is required to use this app. All you have to do is visit www.google.com/voice to sign up and then download the app in iTunes. The only sad part is that it's currently only available in the United States.
