Motorola Droid 2 Global, Droid Pro Released by Verizon

Forget about a pre-order period: Verizon's Motorola Droid Pro (pictured right) is now available for purchase directly from the carrier ($179.99 with two-year agreement), seemingly debunking those rumors of a November 9th to 17th pre-sale window followed by general availability on the 18th. Perhaps even more surprising is the release of the Motorola Droid 2 Global (pictured left), which is going for $199.99 on contract despite the fact that, you know, it hasn't actually been launched yet.

We'd originally heard that the 1.2GHz-powered D2G QWERTY slider would actually start shipping on Thursday, so this must be a welcome development for those waiting for this blue or white world phone. In fact, the pictures on Verizon's site are the first non-watermarked ones we've yet seen of this model. The Pro, on the other hand, with its HVGA display and 1GHz TI OMAP CPU, has been official since the beginning of October, and from the pre-release buzz, this could be another bonafide hit for the Droid franchise.

Both models feature the Froyo flavor of Android, a five-megapixel camera, WiFi b/g/n, and Bluetooth 2.1+ EDR.
