Sony Ericsson Xperia X12 'Anzu' Specs Revealed?

The Sony Ericsson Anzu (aka the Xperia X12) first made an appearance last week as little more than a few pics and a promise of Android 2.3. While there's nothing else official to go by just yet, a list of device specs has emerged from what the Unofficial Sony Ericsson Blog believes to be a legit source. All the same, treat it with an appropriate dose of skepticism.

At its core, the Anzu is set to run an MSM7230 system-on-a-chip, the same hardware that powers the G2. We had heard about a 4.3-inch screen last week, while these new figures place it at 4.2 inches. Expect to find that display boasting an 854 x 480 FWVGA resolution.

Continuing through the rumored specs, it looks like an 8.1-megapixel camera would let Anzu capture 720p video at a full 30 frames per second, and the inclusion of an HDMI port could help get any HD videos you shoot up onto a big screen for sharing with friends and family.

The suggestion that Android 2.3 Gingerbread will be installed on the Anzu shows up again in these new specs, lending credence to the earlier rumors. Android 2.3 will add, among other features, support for Near Field Communication to enable tap-and-pay transactions. For now, neither Gingerbread now the Anzu have a published release date.
