Nokia N8 power problems officially acknowledged

Nokia has acknowledged some issues with its N8 smartphone, which sees the Symbian^3 handset refusing to power on correctly. According to Nokia EVP Niklas Savander, the issue affects “a limited number of N8 users” who are finding their phones either won’t turn on or won’t turn off; Savander says Nokia has identified that the fault lies with “the way we assemble the engines.”

Anyone experiencing the issue should contact Nokia Care and look to getting the faulty handset repaired under warranty. We’ve also been seeing suggestions from SlashGear readers that the Nokia C7 – which we reviewed yesterday – has been experiencing similar problems, but according to Savander the production problem has been corrected and should not be impacting any other devices in the company’s range.
