Nokia N00 Prototype Found, Could be Future N87 Model

What appears to be Nokia prototype phone is up for sale on the German eBay site, purporting to be a development copy of the forthcoming N87 handset.

The phone's design most strongly resembles N86 or N96 models, making that N87 moniker feel appropriate. The only reference the phone makes is to N00, a placeholder prototype model number. From what we can see of the hardware, the camera looks to get an upgrade to a 12-megapixel sensor with xenon flash. There's a pop-out kickstand on the rear, though of a very different design than either the N86 or N96 use.
For all the signs pointing to a legit prototype, there are also some reasons to be suspicious of the handset. The seller admits not knowing where the phone came from, only that he found it in a bar. The phone's front buttons are also very clunky-looking and don't reflect the design choices made for N86 or N96. That could as easily be a concession made to get a prototype built and in-testing as quickly as possible, as much as it could tag the phone as a knock-off Nokia.

If you want to take a closer look yourself, the N00 prototype could be yours, for the low, low price of $800.
