When Docs' word processor flags a word as incorrect with the red squiggly underline, you can right-click on the word, choose the Autocorrect sub-menu, and choose which word it should always correct to. Better yet, though, click the Tools menu and choose Preferences. In there, you can add abbreviations or words that should be automatically expanded into longer text. Docs automatically handles some common ASCII substitutions (like (c) for ©), but it's the custom stuff that can make Docs a much more efficient editor.
