Angry Birds Christmas Revealed

The Angry Birds news is coming at a fast and furious pace today, as developer Rovio has just confirmed that a Christmas edition of the blockbuster game is inbound; it's likely that this title will be launched on December 11th -- Angry Birds Day -- when we may also hear about the company's plans for a Windows Phone 7 port. Besides hinting at the seasonal title on Twitter -- and changing its icon to a Santa-hat-wearing-red-bird -- Rovio apparently leaked out at least one screenshot from the game, which was first published on MTV3's Finnish site.

Angry Birds Christmas will be the third member of the franchise, following the original game (available on iOS, Android, and Symbian) and the subsequent Halloween edition, which offered 45 new themed levels (and which the true Birds fanatic was able to beat by three-starring each level in chronological order). Rovio recently announced that a lightweight version was in the works for lower-range handsets, and hinted that a pig-focused sequel was also on the way. The company already sells a line of plush Birds toys, and it has been reported that film and movie adaptations are forthcoming as well.
