Verizon will release the entry-level Motorola Citrus Android handset tomorrow, although unlike other recent (and rumored) budget smartphones, this model will retail for $50 over free (after $100 mail-in rebate). First introduced early last month -- and leaked much earlier than that -- the 2.1 Eclair-powered Citrus offers up a 528MHz processor, three-inch QVGA display, three-megapixel fixed-focus camera, 512MB ROM / 256MB RAM, and an 1150mAh battery.
Comparatively, the LG Optimus One (free on T-Mobile in black as the Optimus T and likely free on Verizonas the LG Vortex) sports a 600MHz processor, HVGA resolution, 512MB of RAM, and a slightly bigger screen, so it seems like the Citrus will have some steep competition this holiday season.
