HTC Paradise Android Slider Passes FCC with AT&T 3G Bands
An unannounced smartphone from HTC going by the name HTC Paradise has passed through the FCC, and in a surprising little treat, all of the usually-confidential documents are freely available. The Android-powered Paradise was first rumored way back at the end of last year as part of a treasure trove of HTC codename leaks (among such classics as Hero, Incredible, and Legend), and then spotted at the FCC in April without any corresponding documentation. One lucky buyer was even able to score a sample unit on Craigslist in April, although not much info was revealed at the time. Now, however, we have the full user manual, multiple external and internal images, and even some AT&T branding to go along with the supported 3G bands -- although PhoneScoop reports that this model may have already been killed by the carrier.
According to the documentation, the Paradise is a Sense-infused device with unknown processor running an unspecified version of Android (we can't imagine it would be anything but 2.2 Froyo given that even free-on-contract devices are shipping with Mountain View's latest). Also unknown are the exact screen size and resolution, but it looks to be on the smaller side (maybe 3.2 inches?) and from the graininess of the user guide screenshots, probably only packs 320/360 x 480 (HVGA) pixels. Also on board is a 3.2-megapixel camera, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, and HSPA 3G; the combination of specs (plus the fact that it was first manufactured months ago) makes us think the CPU is probably running at around 600MHz.
If this handset has indeed been relegated to the smartphone dumpster by AT&T, this may be your last chance to have a look at it before it fades into history. Goodbye, Paradise, we hardly knew you.
